Members of Troop #3027 used their green thumbs to plant vegetables and create terrariums! The girls visited the Urban Garden Center the Metro North railway at the corner of 116th and Park Avenue. Miss Sara, instructor with Urban Kids Club, took us on a tour of the center and taught us how to plant vegetables. The girls decorated aluminum cans to be used as pots for their plants. They also were given all of the materials needed to create a terrarium! They even got a lesson on how nutrient-rich soil is made before visiting a chicken coop and feeding the chickens!
