Brownie Girl Scout Charis excited about the ornaments that she made.

The photo of the week was taken by Miss Donna during our annual holiday party!  Brownie Girl Scout Charis is always excited about the many activities that we do during meetings.  But, creating two beautiful looking ornaments really brought out the big smiles.  Happy Holidays!

Junior Girl Scout Joset practices the Girl Scout Promise.  Photo by Miss Donna.

The photo of the week was taken of Junior Girl Scout member Joset getting some help from Girl Scout sisters Kennedy, Cassidy and Ryan as she practices the Girl Scout Promise.  Every Girl Scout must memorize the Promise and live by the Girl Scout Law.

Miss Donna tending to Jada's wound.
The photo of the week was taken by Cadette Girl Scout, Taysia!  As Jada was pinning her name tag to her shirt, she injured her pointer finger.  Although, Jada was not badly hurt, Miss Donna (certified in First Aid and CPR) cleaned the flesh wound and applied a band-aid.  With a first aid kit in the cabinet, we're always prepared!

Do you have a first aid kit at home?  If not, you can make your own!  Click here for some great suggestions from the American Red Cross and a list of items that you should have in order to make your own kit!

Photo of the Week: December 14th Meeting

The photo of the week was taken by Miss Donna at our annual 'Holiday Party' as girls from Troop #3027 viewed the many gifts given to them from donors who support our troop.  From draw-string bags to notebooks and pens, the girls went home with five different gifts that they chose!

Special thanks to Miss Donna's dear friend, Ms. King-St. Louis, for the drawstring bags, Miss Jodi's colleagues at ABC Television for the books and DVD's and friends of Miss Stacey's over at Nickelodeon for the t-shirts and all the novelty items that the girls absolutely loved!  We appreciate your support!  Happy Holidays!

Daisy Girl Scout, Charis, models her creations.

Photo of the week was captured by Miss Donna as Charis (new Daisy Girl Scout) models a bag and dress that she designed.  With support from guest speaker and professional clothing designer Kellia Rogers, Charis was able to create a dress out of a men's, large t-shirt!  Rip the runway, Charis!

Photo of the Week: October 19th Meeting

Miss Stacey poses with members of Troop #3027 wearing their Girl Scout vest.
Our photo of the week was taken by Miss Donna!  Here, Miss Stacey (Trip Coordinator) talks to the girls about their uniform.  "You must wear your vest at each meeting", she reminds the girls.  "Make sure it has our troop number, the "Girl Scouts of America" badge and the trefoil symbol attached to it. During the year, you will earn new badges".

Photo of the Week

The photo of the week was taken at Harlem Lanes located at 2116 Adam Clayton Powell Blvd (4th floor), during a recent troop field trip.  It seems as though green and orange bowling balls were the fashion statement of the day!  In this photo, Jada, Candice, Thailyn and Christina are giving you "Bowling Couture"!

Photo of the Week

The photo of the week was taken by Miss Donna on our our way back to the Kennedy Center from a recent trip!  The Girl Scout uniform involves a sash or a vest, but our girls are "fashionistas" and like to add their own style.  From backpacks to shirts, Troop #3027 makes a fashion statement with each step.  Move over, New York City, we're coming through!

Photo of the Week

Michaela and Khaliah are ready for the snow.
The photo of the week was taken by Miss Donna just before Michaela and Khaliah left to go out into the snow.  If you look at the upper left hand corner of this photograph, you'll notice some snow! On this particular day, New York City received more than three inches of snow!

When asked what plans these Girl Scouts had for this snowy day, Michaela responded, "maybe make snowmen".  "I'm going to walk my dog and go sledding!", said Khaliah.  "My dog's name is Cupcake".
